Xtm is a software environment used to control embedded network nodes (electronic control units). It can also be used to display and modify the inner states of that network nodes. Moreover it's possible to visualize the communication of embedded network nodes, to analyze it and, if required, to replace missing network nodes by simulation its network behaviour. You can also use Xtm in order to influence and complete the network traffic.
The supported networks for the moment are CAN, LIN, Ethernet (only UDP) and FlexRay. The serial interface of the PC and the K-line (with the corresponding adapter for the LAPcan card) can also be used for the communication with an external ECU.
In parallel to measurement or general network communication, the recording and replay of video streams is possible. Video streams and measurement data can be time-synchronized.
Xtm is a result of cooperation with IBME and EK Tronic, Germany.
Features
Xtm has a modular structure. Xtm contains multiple software interfaces which allow communicating with different hardware interfaces. Special software modules contain communication protocols e.g. CCP and XCP. Customized transport protocols e.g. TP1.6 and TP2.0 can be handled by using the powerful Xtm-Script-Interpreter.
The software-interfaces will be defined during the configuration phase and will not be directly illustrated during normal operation. Of course all data and signals which will be generated out of these interfaces will be displayed.
All software interfaces are working independent from the graphical surface (GUI) in separated and high priorities windows-threads. Consequently the calculation power of the computer with multiple CPU-Cores can be used optimized.
