Shanghai First Pump Works Co., Ltd. was founded in 1957, it was one of the key enterprises in water pump circle under the former Ministry of Machinery and Electronic Industry of the State Council. And it has been one of the water pump manufacturers in China, who is capable to provide a rather complete pump product range. In 1989, it attained the title of the “ National Second-Class Enterprise”. 

To meet the requirement of company developing and production scale expanding, by the end of 2009, the whole company moved to the Luo Dian Industrial Zone of Bao Shan District, Shanghai. Now the company covers a total area of more than 70 Mu (≈46500m2), on which there are newly built workshops 20000 m2 and office buildings 3000m2. The total investment for the new site is nearly RMB100,000,000.00. The company has a solid foundation of technical man power, with 4 senior engineers and 32 engineers & technicians of various levers. We now possess more than 300 sets of main equipments, including metal-cutting equipments and testing equipments. The newly purchased equipments such as dynamic balancing machine, face miller and so on substantially guaranteed the quality of the products.

The products mainly cover more than 50 series, including more than 1000 varieties and more than 4000 specifications, such as water drainage pump for mine, construction pumps of varieties , medium and low pressure boiler feed pump, chemical pumps of varieties, petrochemical processing pump, oil pump, water injection pump for oil field, marine pumps, mid-small power station pump, hot water pump, submersible sewage pump, submerged pump, water coal-ash pump, special pump for air conditioning unit, water turbomachine unit, automatic water supply equipment, diesel engine-pump unit, fire-fighting pump etc. 

We once had the honor to supply the high-pressure and high-speed water pumps for boiler and speed-adding gear box for our country’s first 300 thousand kilowatts generator. We also made contributions to big projects such as the 520 thousand-ton urea device, China’s first launch of the experimental communication satellite, Bao Steel Complex, Jinshan Petrochemical Complex etc. for which we won the praises from the State Council. 

Our company is a designated manufacturer for mine drainage pumps by the Ministry of Coal. We are the only one in China who imported the technology of manufacturing the high head, low rotation speed, large flow, and high suction mine drainage pump. Combining self-developing and technology importing together, we now provide products of 3 series and dozens of varieties to the mining industry. In China, almost all the major mining group are now using our products.

We are the unique high-building water feed pump manufacturer of the first group of 17 pump manufacturers designated by the Ministry of Machinery and Electronic Industry in China. The main product is horizontal type Model TSWA, which is self-designed and manufactured. Its efficiency is higher than that of similar products made by foreign advanced countries. The vertical type Model DL won the award of “ Shanghai Excellent New Products ” and was recommended to hotels in China as the substituting equipment for imported items when making renovation. Meantime, our boiler water feed pumps are also the idea accessories for all kinds of industrial boilers.

With long-time practice of pump manufacture, a high-level team of designers and skilled workers has been formed. We own the physical-chemical experiment laboratory, advanced technologic equipment and the testing instrument which meets the International Standard. The Quality Control covers the whole process of production, starting from mold-making , acceptance inspection of casting-pieces and materials, to machining,

assembling, testing, completion, till painting and packing, all of which to the Quality Control System. In accordance with ISO 9001 standard, we designed Pump Testing Stand by ourselves, and we were the first in East China to pass the technical appraisal for Class B precision. Computer is now used at the testing stand for data processing. All the above measures have guaranteed the quality of our products and the reputation of the company. With the rapid development of marketing economy, Shanghai First Pump Works, a former state-own enterprise has been successfully denationalized into Shanghai First Pump Works Co., Ltd.
