施工方法：FTTX工程中大規(guī)模使用皮線光纜，主要采用了兩種接續(xù)方式：一種是以冷接子為主的光纜冷接技術(shù)（物理接續(xù)），一種是以熔接機為工具的熱熔技術(shù)。
冷接技術(shù)：光纖冷接子是兩根尾纖對接時使用的，它內(nèi)部的主要部件就是一個精密的v型槽，在兩根尾纖撥纖之后利用冷接子來實現(xiàn)兩根尾纖的對接。操作起來更簡單快速，比用熔接機熔接省時間。從表面上看，冷接操作簡單快速，比熔接機熱熔節(jié)省時間，但是的冷接技術(shù)還主要應(yīng)用在光纜通信中斷后應(yīng)急應(yīng)用。

冷接技術(shù)存在明顯缺陷：
（1）冷接損耗大。由于采用物理接續(xù)，兩根光纖*靠V型槽和匹配液來實現(xiàn)接續(xù)，這樣的損耗明顯要大于熱熔連接點。在FTTX工程中，雖然對于線路的損耗要求沒有干線要求嚴(yán)格，但是大損耗點就是潛在的故障點。
（2）使用壽命短，維護成本高。冷接技術(shù)中，匹配液的作用很重要。引用運營商客戶統(tǒng)計的數(shù)據(jù)，進口的匹配液，一般的壽命會在3年左右，而國產(chǎn)的匹配液，壽命只有1.5~2年。這樣，增加的維護的成本。而且一個冷接子的成本一般會在30到50元左右（可拆卸重復(fù)利用，但是拆卸后再用的精準(zhǔn)度大大降低，所以冷接子標(biāo)稱是可重復(fù)，實際是在施工過程中都是只用一次的），實際使用維護成本高。

熱熔技術(shù)熱熔技術(shù)的優(yōu)點：
（1）、熔接損耗小。兩根光纖采用熱熔技術(shù)，按照干線標(biāo)準(zhǔn)來進行的熔接，大大降低了熔接損耗。
（2）、使用壽命長，維護成本低。由于熱熔標(biāo)準(zhǔn)按照干線施工進行要求，一般熔接點的壽命都會和普通光纜的壽命相差不多，不存在單個點的壽命問題。^[1] 
入戶方式：
